"In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing."

Theodore Roosevelt

Reflection: When you're faced with a decision, you always have to strive for making the choice to choose the right thing. Think to yourself on which choice is the right one.

Progress Post

So far, I have mostly written long term goals, so I know I wont accomplish them now but i'm working up on them.
So far I have achieved 68 goals in less than a year. But i have a long way to go.
from now on, im gonna try to write more short term goals so i can accomplish more.
for example, small goals that can lead up to the big goals.
Like practice for the basketball team so then i can make the basketball team.
SO from now on, ima make more short term goals to encourage myself to accomplish the long term goals.

"Make each day your masterpiece. You have to apply yourself each day to become a little better, and over a period of time you become a lot better."

John Wooden

UCLA

Reflection: This means that in order to improve or accomplish something you have to dedicate to it. Even a little of dedication can make a difference in the outcome of whether you end up being successful or not. For example, practicing for a performance, if you practice everyday for a little while, it'll help you improve. But you just don;t practice at all, you won't see any positive results.

Military Medical Opportunities

Duties and Responsibilities: In emergencies or in combat not all physicians are always immediately available to treat the injured or wounded. Education:  Training occurs on the job and through advanced courses
course content typically includes:
  • Emergency medical treatment
  • basic nursing care
  • study of the human body
  • minor surgical procedures
  • medicines for diagnosing disease

Reflection:The only reason why I would like to become a military medical technician is because I would be saving people's life. But then again. I don't support the overall idea of people beating each other to death for freedom? It's ironic actually. So, no. I don't want to support the fact that people have to give up their lives by getting slaughtered. I'm surprised people still support the concept of war judging by the fact that we've gotten so far in technology and knowledge. We should know by now that war doesn't solve problems, instead it causes destruction. death, sorrow, depression, isolation and not to mention. it takes freedom away from people and the whole point of war was to sustain our freedom.

The 10 Indian Commandments

  1. Treat the Earth and all tat dwells therein with respect
  2. Remain close to the Great Spirit
  3. Show great respect to your fellow beings
  4. Work together for the benefit of all mankind
  5. Give assistance and kindness wherever needed
  6. Do what you know to be right
  7. Look after the well-being of mind and body
  8. Dedicate a share of your efforts to the greater good
  9. Take full responsibilities of your actions.

Reflection: I think it's interesting how they pass down there commandments to their children and then their children passes it down their children and so on. But I also find it sad how many people don't respect Indians, despite their kindness and help, Americans have them in reservations. Back then, they weren't called "reservations" , it was actually beautiful non polluted lands that we managed to completely destroy. The United States deny rights to Indians despite the fact that they have more heart than most of us do.

"I promise should never be broken."

Alexander Hamilton
.

Reflection: Promises aren't made to be broken. You might promise someone to do something and they'll trust you and reply on you to live up to it. But if you say you're going to do something and you don't, that trust fades away because now they know you cant be entrusted to do something.
Breaking promises can break friendships, family, loved ones and worst of all.. trust.

Student Success Statement

"My basic principle is that you don't make decisions because they are easy; you don't make them because they are cheap; you don't make them because they're popular; you make them because they're right."

Theodore Hesburgh
(former president of Notre Dame)

Refection: I think what he's trying to say is the real reason why people make decisions. A person makes decisions to find out what the best option is. They narrow down their options and pick choices that they think are the right ones. Decision making takes critical thinking and sense of judgement.
