Licensed Practical Nurse 


Duties and Responsibilities:  nurse who cares for those who are sick, injured, convalescent or disabled. They provide emotional support and answer any questions the patients might have about their health 
  • Giving medicine as prescribed by a physician
  • taking vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature and weight 
  • Giving injections and medications
  • immunizations 
  • taking medical history 
  • entering information into computer systems 

Tasks 
  • Take temperatures, dress wounds, record vital signs, collect blood and urine samples and prep patients for examinations, etc.
  • May include some clerical work and may work under the supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Provide basic medical care helping physicians and registered nurses to focus in more specialized areas in patient care.


Salary: LPN nurses earn an average wage of $17.73 an hour 
pay for this job does not change much by experience 

Education: 
  • Must be 18 years of age 
  • Hold a high school diploma or GED 
  • Pass a criminal background check 
  • Complete a training program 
  • GPA of 2.0 or higher 





Reflection: Yes, I do think I would like to become a licensed Practical Nurse because the job seems very appealing. I like helping people and this career seems to fit into that category.

Health Sciences Librarian 

Duties and Responsibilities: they support the educational, research and clinical needs for the school of medicine. They acquire the catalog books. they also assist those who are using the library for research or educational purposes but they work in health related materials. 
  • Responsible for the selection, assessment, and management of collections and resources that support the school of medicine 
  • They will provide specialized and general referenced service. 


Salary: $47,722-$73,238 

Education: 
  • Graduate degree in library science from a credited institution 
  • Educational background in health sciences .
  • Substantial knowledge of the health sciences 



Reflection: Well Health sciences librarians clearly get a better pay check than normal librarians. But I don't think this is the job for me. It doesn't appeal to me and as a matter of fact is seems a tad boring. I love books but the not health science books. So I don't think i'm fit for this job.

Duties and responsibilities: To safeguard information about the patients obtained through examinations, interviews, testing, consultation or treatment; refrain from role conflicts such as business arrangements or intimate social and/or sexual relations with clients or patients; follow appropriate and accepted psychological/psychiatric diagnostic.

Education: Masters level therepist: LMHC, LMFT, LCSW
