Allergist/ Immunologist
Online Research:
Go online. Look for and provide the following information as a new post in your Electronic Portfolio.


Duties and responsibilities: Allergist present their research findings in meetings. They also have to document patient’s medical histories. They also have to prescribe medication.

Salary:$225,814

Education: To become an allergist one must first complete a residency in pediatrics. And go to training programs.  They have to complete four years.

 Reflection: I dont think i would like to become a allergist because it doesnt grab my attention.

Ophthalmologist

Duties and Responsibilities:
Ophthalmologists  are physicians who specialize in the treatment of eye disorders and diseases. They treat vision problems and write prescriptions for both pharmaceuticals and corrective eyeglass lenses. When necessary, they preform eye surgery. Most ophthalmologists are in private practice, however some are employed by hospitals or clinics, and others preform research.

Average Salary: $90,000-$150,000
Educational Requirements:
Only physicians may study to become ophthalmologists. After completing medical school and an internship, an ophthalmologists must then complete a three to five year residency in an approved ophthalmology program. After completing their residency program they must pass an examination to be certified.




Reflection: I don’t think I would like to be one because it doesn’t grab my attention.  The average salary is good but I’m not interested in the career. I would also be too nervous to preform surgery on someone.

                                                       Psychiatrist
Duties and responsibilities: Psychiatrists are physicians who specialize in the problems of mental illness. As physicians, they are licensed to use a wide variety of treatment sand may write prescriptions. Psychiatrists may work for the government, have their own private practice, or work in hospitals, clinics, or universities. Their duties include:
·         Designing treatment programs.
·         Conducting psychotherapy sessions.
·         Prescribing potent mental illness drugs.
·         Supervising electrotherapy treatments.
·         Conducting research.
·         Leading a team of mental health care providers.
Average Salary: $90,000-$200,000
Education Requirements: Bachelors, Masters, Ph.D. degrees
In addition to completing the requirements for a degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine, psychiatrists must complete an intensive three year residency in psychiatry.
  





Reflection: Yes, I would like to become a psychiatrist because in the future I would like to have a good earning job in which I can help people overcome mental problems.
