Duties and Responsibilities:
- Enables patients to stay in their homes by monitoring and recording patient's conditions
- providing support and personal services such as bathing and dressing.
- teaching families about nutrition and lift or turn the patients and advising cleanliness and housekeeping
- The conditions monitored can be mental and physical.
Salary: $22,050 per year
Education: There is no standardized education requirements for HHA. In some states, not even a high school diploma is needed. Other states require HHA to take preparation classes before they begin working.
the certification requires 75 hours of training and skills testing
Reflection: No, I don't think I would like to become one because I wouldn't want to be taking care of someone the whole day and changing diapers, despite the fact that it is a great community service and I respect the people that have patients for that type of job. But I don't think it's worth it especially regarding the slightly about minimum wage salary.
